Two brands, one purpose
I’m Bethany, the face behind Mariae Designs. In 2020, I decided to try turning my love of art into a business and Violet among Lilies was born! This little business has continued to grow more than I could have hoped for. It never fails to amaze me or excite my inner child that people actually buy and display my artwork in their homes.
Over the past year, I have found myself wanting to branch out and experiment with other product styles. This led to the creation of Lumen Christi Paper Co., a Catholic paper goods shop with a more minimal feel.
These two stores, although different in their products and aesthetics, share the same goal and mission: to bring others to Christ through beautiful artwork and products. I chose the name Mariae Designs to encompass these businesses because of the Blessed Mother. Nothing seemed more fitting than to entrust these two brands and any future endeavors to her loving care.
What Makes Each Brand Unique
Violet among Lilies
The name of this shop came from St. Faustina’s Diary. She referred to herself as a violet amongst her fellow sisters, the lilies. My aim for this shop was to create a one-stop-shop for Catholic home goods and gifts. At this store you can find stickers (waterproof of course), cards, notepads, prints, tote bags, and more. The style of this shop is very cheerful and colorful and geared more towards Catholic women. However, there are still some products to get the men in your life! :)
Lumen Christi Paper Co.
Over the years, I have been learning more about the Latin tradition of liturgy. While I am by no means an expert, I have been very drawn to the beauty and simplicity of these traditions. I wanted to create a shop that focused on creating more minimal, traditional artwork, specifically paper goods that could appeal to both men and women. With all the chaos in the world, I wanted to share our Church’s traditions and spread the light of Christ, hence the name of this shop. At this shop you can expect to find cards, prints, and stationary sets.
